The Fourth Hideyo Noguchi Africa Prize Award (Medical Research Category) handed over at the Embassy of Japan in South Africa

On 9 November 2022, at the Embassy of Japan in South Africa, Ambassador MARUYAMA Norio handed over insignias of the 4th Hideyo Noguchi Africa Prize to Dr Salim S. Abdool Karim and Dr Quarraisha Abdool Karim, the Laureates of Medical Research Category. They were awarded the prize at the award ceremony on the occasion of the 8th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD8) in Tunis on 28 August. Prime Minister KISHIDA Fumio delivered a video message at the ceremony.
