The symposium was conducted by high school students of Aizu Wakamatsu City. The laureates answered questions from students and sent messages to the students. Dr. Peter Piot's message was "Think ahead - counter injustices" and Dr. Alex G. Coutinho's was  “Think globally ‐ act locally".

The laureates visited former Kaiyo hospital. Young Noguchi had an operation on his left hand by Dr. Kanae Watanabe, head doctor of Kaiyo Hospital. Then he dicided to be a medical doctor.

 The laureates visited Suehiro Kaeigura sake brewery where Dr. Noguchi's brother worked and Dr. Noguchi's mother visited to have a rest during her work.

Meeting with Fukushima Medical University’s Staffs at Aizu Medical Center

The laureates had a meeting and exchanged opinions with the staff of Aizu Medical Center. After meeting, Dr. Keiji Suzuki, the director of Aizu Medical Center guided the laureates to the facilities of the medical center.
